Inspection Briefing is for the day of the notification call, once your school knows who is on the inspection team. Enter your school and the inspectors' names, and it brings together what that team has written in other schools, how schools like yours were graded, and your own published figures, as a page or a PDF.
How can I find out what our inspection team has written before?
Ofsted prints the lead inspector and team inspectors on every published report, but it does not publish the team in advance, so you type in the names you were given. Names suggest from past reports as you type. A name that is not in any report is still kept and marked "no previous reports found", rather than matched to someone else.
For each inspector the briefing lists their past new-framework reports, how many they led, the phases and areas they covered, the judgements those reports gave, where team members have inspected together, and the next steps their reports set most often. Every report links to the published PDF, so each figure can be checked.
What else is in the briefing?
Your school's latest report and published DfE figures, the timing estimate from the Date Predictor, and the closest matches from Similar Schools with their judgements and grade distribution against all schools in your sector.
How should the inspector figures be read?
With care. Judgements are the whole team's, not one inspector's. Numbers are small, and grades reflect the schools inspected as much as the inspectors. The briefing only shows the team you enter for your own school: there are no rankings, scores or lists of inspectors.

Frequently asked questions
Does Ofsted tell schools who the inspectors will be?
Yes, as part of the notification call shortly before the inspection. Inspection Briefing is built to be used in that window.
Which reports are included?
Published Ofsted reports under the renewed framework, from November 2025, for primary, secondary and special schools.
Can I browse or compare inspectors?
No. The briefing only covers the team named for your school's inspection, and it never ranks or scores inspectors.
