The weekly Ofsted inspection roundup

The week's inspections, grade patterns and notable findings — briefing-ready.

The Weekly Roundup is a digest of the week's inspection activity in your sector — what was published, how it was graded, and what the pattern across the week suggests. It is written to be read straight into a leadership or governors' meeting.

What is in each week's roundup?

The inspections published that week, the distribution of grades awarded, and the findings that stand out — a category where judgements have shifted, a theme recurring across several reports, or a result that runs against the recent trend.

Roundups are produced per sector, so a primary school leader reads primary inspections rather than a blend across all schools.

Why weekly?

Inspection reports publish continuously and unevenly. Checking daily is noise; checking termly means missing the shift while it happens. A weekly cadence is short enough to catch a change in inspector emphasis early and long enough to have something to say.
